It's official. Barack Obama is the next President of the United States and will be sworn in in January 2009. Many consider him to be the first black President of the United States. Myself not being racist, his colour is not an issue to me and don't see it. Congratulations to Barack Obama. Commiserations to John Mccain who put a good fight and conceded defeat graciously.
Martin Luther King would have been proud of Obama's achievement. He has made history. It has made history in another way as this was, for both candidates, the most expensive campaign ever.
Obama won 349 Electoral College votes to Mccain's 162.
