Not long finished watching Doctor Who: The End of Time Part 2 followed by Doctor Who Confidential on BBC3. For those who have not seen it yet, it was a great send off for the tenth Doctor and it can be watched again on the BBCi Player. It answered a few questions in the process too. Liked the last few minutes at the end before his regeneration also. David Tennant's Doctor will be missed.
I have seen the new Doctor Matt Smith on some other shows and I like the guy but am still interested in seeing how he will play the Doctor. They got him off to a good start.
In the new trailer for Season 5 I'm sure I spotted the weeping angels from the episode "Blink" popping up again....

I thought that the ending was far too drawn out. There was no need for Davis to indulge himself and showcase all the alien species we have been exposed to during his tenur as producer. Nor was there any need to tie in all the spin off shows. And why did Rose not remember meeting the Tenant doctor when he reincarnated from the Ecclestone version? Also talking of Rose what happened to the previos Doctor who battled the robots during the Christmas of 2005?
Too many questions and plot holes despite the great acting from Tenant & Sim (who stole the show for me).
I still enjoyed it but it was a little long. Did you catch Doctor Who Confidential that accompanied that episode? In it RTD gave his reasons for bringing Rose into it and why he gave the tenth doctor a quick tour of all other companions.
RTD didnt think that Moffat, taking over from him, might not bring these characters back again as Moffat will have his own ideas. These Characters may never appear in Doctor Who again. So he decided to give them a little farewell too.
Tennant and Simm were great. Tim Dalton did a good job too. It was a surprise what The Master called Tim Dalton's character at the end - thinking of Rassilon in "The 5 Doctors" so baffled me slightly there.
The explanaton for the sound of drums was unexpected and interesting.
I enjoyed David Tennant's send off and agree he will be missed and a hard act to follow. John Sim was also excellent throughout as was Bernard Cribbins. A couple of nods to Star Wars were evident and I felt the Capt Jack sequence was gratuitous, but hey, you can't have it all. Have to say, the official trailer for the new series looks interesting, although the jury on Matt Smith is obviously still out.
