Shiver me Timbers! Its them thar pirates and a 7 years war game!

On the 8th February 2010, the last time I entered the Grimsby Wargames Society premises, there were just 2 games going on: A Seven Years wargame using the Black Powder rules and a pirate game between a pair of old sea dogs. Arrrrr!!

These Pirates belong to Mal Taylor. At this moment in time I am not sure where he got them from.

The website can now be found at http://www.gywargames.co.uk

I woke up this morning and found to my surprise that I was able to view the site at its normal location of http://www.gywargames.co.uk. Somehow other people yesterday had already been able to do that but I wasnt one of them. Using web forwarding to point the domain to the website though having signed up to 2 services am not sure which one is doing it. That sort of thing, of course, is up to me to sort out.

Just happy that its working again. The new website is once again ready to be viewed by the world.

Typical! Website domain not working

Sorry Folks. Just realised that as soon as I had said you could find the website at the domain http://www.gywargames.co.uk the domain stopped working. Have checked and double checked all the settings and can find nothing wrong. Must be the domain nameservers of the domain host at http://www.freeparking.co.uk

The website is up as I have said earlier its just domain name less till the correct servers sort themselves out.

Hopefully it will be back to normal shortly.

The new Grimsby Wargames Society Website is up!

The new Grimsby Wargames Society Website is up!!  However there is some more content to be added to the links pages. There is also a rather large volume of photos to be slowly uploaded to the relevant Flckr groups of my own photographic contributions plus other members. With Flickr you are only allowed to upload 100MB a month. As yet, I have not posted anything on the site but will do soon.

Drop in on the site from time to time. No doubt I will be uploading photos throughout the week.

The website can still be found at http://www.gywargames.co.uk

Sorry for the lack of posts

Sorry for the lack of posts recently. Well, the lack of non-Grimsby Wargames Society website related posts anyway. Over the next few days I plan to post photos of the last time I went to the club in early february. Recently I have been rebuilding and overhauling the Grimsby Wargames Society website. It is my intention to have it up and running by the time this weekend ends. Just got some pages to do and rather a substantial amount of photos to upload to the club's new Flickr feed I created specially. Not going to upload all the photos in one go but would like to have the most important pics, in particular, photos that were in the Picasa galleries, uploaded to Flickr. Aim to get a good deal of photographic contributions from members uploaded before the site goes live under the domain name http://www.gywargames.co.uk

There are still more pages and content to be added to the static pages but am confident that can be done before the weekend. If you want to have a look at what the site looks like in its unfinished state go to http://grimsbywargames.wordpress.com . Please do not link to this Wordpress domain.

The Grimsby Wargames Society website has always been owned by me and this new version is no exception. Technically it is MY BLOG, just made to appear like a website. Wordpress has always been great when it comes to creating websites with its software. It is actually hosted at Wordpress.com

If you actually look to the top right of this blog you may notice that I have added 2 static pages to it. Wordpress has always had that ability for many years but it is a new development on Blogger. There is an "About Me" page plus another page with a map "Where to find the Grimsby Wargames Society" should anyone wish to visit us. Please have a look at these pages.
